Life cycle services, end to end
From data collection and modelling to environmental declarations, independent review and internal capability building.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
Quantify impacts, identify hotspots and compare alternatives across the product life cycle.
Life Cycle Assessment turns data on raw materials, energy, transport, manufacturing, use and end of life into a structured understanding of the environmental performance of products and processes. We develop LCA studies with a clear definition of goal and scope, life cycle inventory development and validation, environmental modelling, impact assessment and interpretation of results. The study can range from a cradle-to-gate assessment to the complete product life cycle, depending on its intended purpose and the decisions it needs to support. Beyond quantifying impacts, LCA can reveal significant stages in the value chain, compare scenarios and technological alternatives, and provide a robust technical foundation for product development, environmental strategy, communication and subsequent studies such as Product Carbon Footprints and EPDs. It can also support circular-economy initiatives and the development of sustainability indicators tailored to an organisation's products and activities.
Services
- Goal, scope and system-boundary definition
- Life cycle inventory and data validation
- Environmental modelling and impact assessment
- Interpretation, scenario analysis and hotspot identification
- Technical report and recommendations
Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
Turn life cycle data into structured, transparent and verifiable environmental product information.
An Environmental Product Declaration presents quantified environmental information about a product in a standardised and transparent format. We develop the underlying LCA, identify the applicable product rules, structure the information required for the declaration and prepare the technical documentation for verification. Our approach connects environmental modelling with the practical purpose of the EPD by organising data, assumptions, results and supporting documentation into a traceable evidence base. Product Category Rules (PCRs) provide methodological guidance for product groups, helping harmonise assumptions, concepts and modelling choices. EPDs are published through programme operators, whose programme rules define the applicable requirements. This helps manufacturers respond consistently to environmental information requirements from customers, specifiers, supply chains and markets where verified product declarations are used.
Services
- Applicable product-rule assessment
- Background LCA and environmental modelling
- Results structured for the declaration
- EPD document
- Technical support during verification
Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)
A Product Carbon Footprint quantifies the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the different stages of a product life cycle. We structure the assessment around clearly defined system boundaries, data collection and validation, development of the emissions inventory, process modelling and interpretation of results. The value of a PCF goes beyond a single kg CO₂e figure. It shows where emissions occur and which raw materials, processes, energy sources, transport activities or other life-cycle stages have the greatest influence on the result. This evidence can then support scenario assessment, reduction targets, supplier engagement, product decisions and responses to customer and supply-chain carbon requirements.
Services
- Scope and system-boundary definition
- Emissions inventory and data validation
- Product Carbon Footprint calculation
- Identification of major contributors
- Scenario and reduction-opportunity assessment

Critical Review / Peer Review
Independent scrutiny of the methodology, data, modelling and conclusions behind your study.
Critical review adds an independent layer of technical scrutiny to an LCA, environmental footprint or related study. We examine the consistency between goal, scope and methodology; system boundaries; allocation procedures; data quality and representativeness; calculations and models; interpretation of results; limitations and conclusions. The review is managed through a structured process in which technical comments are documented and the responses and adjustments made by the study team can be followed. This results in a more transparent and traceable study that is better prepared for technical scrutiny, publication, external communication or other applications requiring independent assessment.
Services
- Review plan and criteria
- Methodology and boundary review
- Data, allocation and modelling assessment
- Technical comment log and follow-up
- Assessment of corrections
- Final review statement or opinion
LCA and SimaPro Training
Practical training that turns life-cycle concepts into capability teams can apply in their work.
We develop training for teams that need to understand, perform or use the results of Life Cycle Assessment. Programmes can combine methodological foundations with practical exercises covering modelling, data collection and structuring, system boundaries and allocation, impact assessment and interpretation. Training is adapted to the team’s experience and to the products and processes of the organisation.
Services
- Training-needs assessment
- Programme adapted to the team
- Applied methodological content
- Practical modelling and SimaPro exercises
- Supporting materials and follow-up
